A week in Guernsey

Dispatches

Last week Steve and I visited Guernsey for 5 days to officially lunch the expediton to the media and to visit all the schools that are following the expedition. It was a really busy week carrying kit in and out of schools, talking, demonstrating and answering all kinds of questions from kids aged 5-18! We had a great time and met lots of great kids and loads of generally mad teachers!

At the end of our week we packed up our sledges for the last time and wrapped them up and wished them good luck on their trip to Greenland. They will be travelling overland to Cumbria and then onward to Iceland and then to Kulusuk in Greenland where they will wait for us to turn up in April.

We must thank all of our sponsors for last week, but in particular at this time Les Rocquettes Hotel in Guernsey, who gave us our accomodation for the week for free! As usual it was a great place to stay, the gym and pool being well used!
