Steve Wright

Steve was born in Alderney in the Channel Islands in 1966 and is still living there with Erica and their 4 children, Finlay, Milo, Calli and Asta.

The freedom of being brought up on such a safe island, where the only real playground was the great outdoors clearly left its mark on Steve, as he is still at his happiest when out and about.  Alderney adventures involved beaching, biking, exploring, fishing, boating, camping and scouting and funnily enough, he still enjoys many of those hobbies!

Working life began at a local garage but Steve soon moved to the local telecommunications company, where he completed an apprenticeship and still works there as the local manager.  This is now “Sure” by Cable & Wireless, who are one of the sponsors of Greenland 09.

Adventures now include sailing and ribbing around the Channel Islands and the nearby French coast.  He is always keen to get away on his push bike exploring France and is also lucky enough to be on the local lifeboat enjoying the challenges this provides as well as being part of a great team.

Steve is very proud of his family and wishes to thank them all for supporting his adventures old and new!
